I decided to create a blog and review books on it. I never in a million years thought that I, Angela Pratt, would have a blog, let alone time to manage one!  However, I am such a reading fanatic that I have to read!  I have always been a reader, but in 2012, I started reading more.  I had a back injury and was in bed for about 3 months.  I had to have back surgery and I decided in early January to buy myself a Kindle Fire (I had a Kindle DX, but I really wanted a Fire!) so that it could keep me company.  I started reading….and reading…..and reading some more.  I managed to read over 60 new, original books last year (not counting rereads or short stories)!  I couldn’t believe it.  I only started counting the books because I realized that I had read a lot and wanted to see how much was “a lot.”  My husband (Dan) says that I am cheating 0n him with my Kindle.  I think that’s a pretty accurate description!  I am, at the time of this writing, at about 15 books read.  I am hoping to read even more than I did last year and every year forward.

I have been a beta reader before and I’m not going to lie; I am pimping myself out to beta read some more!! The first author I beta read for was Micheal Siemsen, author of “The Dig”, “The Opal” and “A Warm Place to Call Home.”  I had the pleasure of reading The Dig as my first book of the year in 2012 and immediately began stalking, um, admiring him.  I became a beta reader for him and was able to beta read The Opal and A Warm Place to Call Home.  I thoroughly enjoyed the experience (I think I may have even taken it a little to seriously the first time – more on that later).  I really, genuinely, love to read.  I read a lot of different genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Crime, Romance, Science Fiction, Horror, etc.  I have an open mind.  I hope that you enjoy my blog and if you have any questions or just want to say “Um, Earth to Angela! You were completely WRONG on your review of such and such” then let me know!  I am always around, reading somewhere, on my Kindle.
