Violet Storm by Anna Soliveres

~ Synopsis ~

Several hundred years into the future, The Cleansing, known to some as the End of Days, forced the government to create Arks to shelter our people. When Earth became habitable again, new territories rose up from the ashes: Agria, the City of Light, and the Outer Boundaries. For a while, they lived in peace.

A brilliant surgeon known for his invention of Modi’s—the only cure for a fatal disease running rampant in the City of Light—has gone rogue with his experiments, and the Monarchy is desperate to shut him down. That’s where Aeva Storm comes in, a champion athlete with an ego to match. Aeva is the surgeon’s secret weapon against the Monarchy. After reconstructing her body to become a Modi unlike any he’s ever created, Aeva is forced into a fight against all odds. She’ll have to break loyalties, hurt family, and turn her back on newly awakened love. Thousands of lives hang in the balance in a battle that will set forth a new era.

Join Aeva on her quest to see whether she’s got what it takes to go up against the most powerful humans ever created.

~ Review by Jessica ~

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
I was super excited to read this book as soon as I read the description. I love dystopians, and this one sounded unique and intriguing.
I was SO not disappointed! I loved it! The premise is amazing and it was executed perfectly! It’s sort of like X-Men meets The Hunger Games.
Aeva Storm is an amazing main character; she’s strong, intelligent, intense, emotional… I loved getting inside her head! She’s wonderfully complex. I enjoyed the love triangle between her, Karth, and Ruven immensely. I liked that it was present throughout the story, adding some nice tension ;-), but it didn’t overshadow the rest of the plot. Aeva is no damsel in distress, and she keeps her eye on the ball, not the boy.
Ruven was especially fascinating to me. As his mysterious past slowly unraveled, I fell more and more in love with him. ♡
The plot was fast paced and never boring. I was pleasantly surprised when about half way through I literally gasped and had to put the book down to absorb what I’d just read. I don’t want to give anything away, but…
Holy plot twist Batman!!!
I love when a book takes me by surprise and by the end this one had done that to me many times!
Not to be repetitive, but- I LOVED this book! And I cannot wait for the next one!!  Of course I give this 5 books!
