Title: Why Yellow Jackets Can’t Find The Hole

Author: Emily Walker

Genre: fantasy/Greek mythology

~ Synopsis ~

The Yellow Jackets are a group of young men in their early twenties who have taken a vow of sexual purity. But making a vow and keeping a vow is two different things. Each of them struggle in one way or the other to remain sexually unscathed. Bryant, one of the Jackets, has moved off campus from the all-boys school and finds himself neighbors to a very tantalizing beauty. Only this girl is much more than she seems, and unbeknownst to Bryant, she makes it her mission in life to take his virginity. Bryant and his roommates, in the meantime, are slowly discovering that all of their fellow Yellow Jackets have secrets. Not to mention that there’s a spy in their midst—one who is doing everything he possibly can to expose the fact that the Yellow Jackets are not as ‘pure’ as they all seem.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

In an all boy’s college there is a group called the Yellow Jackets. The motto of the Jackets was simple “A Lady’s flesh he will not see, until he meets his honeybee.”. It was passes on from generation to generation. Usually most members were from families that were members.  Alan Higgins decides that even though his father was a Yellow Jacket he will find out if there is any truth to it and if not, expose them for the frauds he thinks they are.  Bryant was raised to be a Yellow Jacket. Moving out of his parent’s house and being an upper class man in the Jackets just made life even better. Bryant felt the constraints put on him from the oaths he made. They weren’t a religious factor but a studious factor. If you weren’t chasing girls then you could focus on your studies. For a group of men who were there for each other to remain pure. They were quick to judge and Bryant considers them the thought police.  All he needs is a nosy Alan to snoop around on him and his friend’s first party. All the Yellow Jackets have secrets. Some more than others. Add a determined female….?
This was an interesting book. It was completely different than anything I have read. It is ironic that when you tell someone not to do something that you want it even more. Like when you are dieting and then you are starving afterward. The fact is having a high moral code is commendable. Forcing it on others or backstabbing isn’t. There is always someone who tries to breakdown your moral code. I give this 3.5 books.
