~ Synopsis ~
Hiding her identity was a small price to pay for freedom…
Heiress Cara Barrington fled the opulent world of her rich and famous family to carve out an idyllic existence on the California Coast. In the sleepy town of Albion Bay, she’s embraced the simple way of living she’s always craved. No one knows her identity, and she’s free from the pressures of wealth…until her sexy new neighbor threatens the unpretentious world she’s worked so hard to build.
All-Star athlete Ryan Rea enjoys his high-profile status. He’s used to charming his way into the heart and bed of any woman he desires while keeping his own heart secure behind a steel wall. When he meets Cara, she throws him a curveball—she’s unlike any woman he’s ever met, and he has to have her.
Cara’s growing attraction to Ryan endangers her hard-won anonymity, and when she inherits the family business, she must choose between the world she left behind and her new life in the community she’s come to cherish. But facing up to her responsibilities could destroy her freedom and cost her the greatest love she’s ever known.

The crowd in Detroit was rowdy. One thing about playing in center field, Ryan got a taste of the hard-core fans and their energy. He’d stolen a home run from the Tigers’ best hitter in the eighth, so he wasn’t on their happy list.
Ryan crouched and focused on Romaro, their closer, and tuned out the catcalls and obscenities. If Romaro did his job and struck out Hobbs, the final Tigers hitter, the game was theirs. But there was nothing comfortable about a one run lead. Ryan had played against Renaudo in the minors—the guy had power and, more than that, he could put the ball where he wanted it.
Romaro’s pitch was too sweet. Hobbs connected and shot it through the gap. Ryan was too far back to scoop it on a hop. He waved off Paxton in right field and dove, rolling, and then sprang tohis feet and fired the ball to Alex Tavonesi, poised and ready at first. Ryan’s throw was on the mark, and Alex stayed on the bag, but the umpire called Hobbs safe.
Ryan cursed. Sometimes close calls didn’t go your way. But Hobbs should’ve been called out, ending the game.
When the next Tigers hitter shot a line drive into shortstop Matt Darrington’s glove, the crowd booed. Usually Ryan could translate the negative energy of the opposing team’s fans into what it was—love of the game. But tonight the echoing boos just dragged him into the gloomy, black feelings he hated to give the upper hand.
They’d won—he should at least feel happy about that.
But he didn’t.
He was miserable and pissed because he had to jump on a plane, fly to Boston, and sit in a courtroom publicly facing more lies and accusations. Worse, for the first time in his Major League career, he’d miss a game.
He boarded the plane and swore that no matter what happened, he’d never miss another game. There were thousands of guys out there hungry to take his job, a hundred of them lined up, ready and waiting. But more than that, the game was sacred to him. But the law was the law, and this time he hadn’t had a choice.

Jackie is a strong brilliant woman who is dedicated to save marine life and their habitat. Yet something is killing the seals and she is trying to figure out what it is. Having a hot baseball player volunteer is just messing with her mind. She has to protect those seals and her heart. She refuses it to be broken again.
Alex is trying to have a double life. He is trying to run his father’s vineyard and has his baseball career that he loves. He doesn’t have time for anything else. Yet a chance meeting has him volunteering to help the marine life. Jackie doesn’t know what baseball is and isn’t even nice to him but he can’t stop from helping.
I love the way she give both Jackie and Alex’s point of view. Plus I love the fact it is a real story and not about a lot of hot sex. The story line is built and you get to go on the journey that is Jackie and Alex’s life. They might both be attracted to each other but they both have their careers that are important to them. Strong characters with a strong story equals an amazing book. It is an easy 5 books.
We meet Scotty in the first book of the series. Scotty loves being a pitcher for the Giants and hanging out with his best friend Alex. When he meets a beautiful woman who he can talk to about something but sports, his life changes. The women in his life are just there to say they slept with a famous pitcher. He is tired of that life but he gets a rude awakening when he is traded. Not only is he traded but now the owner is the woman he wants.
Chloe is a teacher. She loves her job and loves her life. Her father owns a baseball team and she grew up on baseball. She never expected to inherit the team. What makes it even more difficult is that the one guy she likes is now on the team. She just wants to be a teacher and having the team takes away from that. She has to decide if she going to keep it and what she going to do about Scotty.
I loved Scotty from the first book. I was glad that he gets his own book. I am also amazed how behind his image is a man who loves science like Chloe does. They are the perfect match. They both love science and baseball. The fact they come from different worlds means that they have a lot to decide. It keeps life interesting. I think I might have found my new favorite author. 5 books
Life has not been easy for Matt Darrington. His wife died and he is a All-Star shortstop. Add a precocious six year old that is too smart for his own good is even more difficult. How do you take care of a kid and be a famous baseball star? To make matters worse Sophie has decided that she needs a new mom. She is now shopping for one.
Alana Tavonesi loves her life in Paris but her life changes when she gets a call that she inherits the Tavonesi Olive Ranch. She returns to California and has to decide if she is going to sell or not. At first it seems like an easy decision to sell. Every moment she spends there it changes her mind. She meets a hot guy and life changes more. She isn’t sure about him or his daughter but she can’t stop thinking about them either way.
I love Sophie. She cracks me up with her going up to Alana with her complaints. She will grow up and have the boys chasing after her. Her father Matt thinks he has his hands full now. I really enjoy how these stories are so connected but they have their own life and can be read as a stand alone. 5 books
Ryan is an All-Star athlete. He is use to women throwing themselves at him. He doesn’t have any commitments and that is just the way he likes it. When he meets Cara she changes the game. She is throwing herself at him and he finds himself thinking about her. She is something he has to have.
Cara is hiding in Albion Bay. She left her life behind her and she loves the simple town. She likes the fact that no one knows she is an heiress and she can just be herself. She wasn’t planning on a sexy neighbor and the attraction to him. Her quiet life and love might be destroyed by the very secret she is keeping. Everyone knows that eventually all secrets come out in the end.
Ryan acts like a tough guy but he isn’t. Cara is a strong woman. I can’t imagine giving up your life and starting over all by myself. Some might see it as a coward’s action but sometimes you need to find yourself before dealing with life. I love these stories. 5 books
