~ Review by Courtney ~

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Hiding Away is a companion novella to Letting Go, the first book in the Anchored Hearts Series. In this installment of the series we get Cal and Jane’s story. You absolutely have to read Letting Go in order to understand what is going on. This is not a stand-alone and the reader will be lost if they do not read the first book. It progresses quickly and is very fast paced.

I really loved the first book in this series and was very eager to get Jane and Cal’s story. I liked it, but was a bit disappointed that there was so much from the first book also in this story. While we get everything from Jane and Cal’s POV, I found that a lot of the story included scenes from Letting Go, but they were quickly described and then moved on. I know that being detailed would have led it to be almost identical to Letting Go, just from a different perspective, but I also found myself becoming impatient with jumping from similar scene to similar scene, it just didn’t flow well for me.

I did enjoy getting Cal and Jane’s story, and overall their story was good. There is a crazy cliffhanger and that really pulled me in, unfortunately that was at the end, so now I have to wait, but I am anxious to see what happens next with their story. I gave Hiding Away 3.5 Books.

J.M. Witt

I’m  a stay-at-home mom with four young children and one extremely supportive husband. We’ve been married for nine years and reside in Highland, Michigan.I’ve dreamed of writing romance novels since I was little. After having baby #4, who may or may not have been fathered by Christian Grey, I decided it was time to pursue my dreams.

When I’m not volunteering at the schools of my children, running to various appointments, enjoying time with my friends and my book club, dating my husband, or avoiding cleaning my house, I’m writing!

I love music and believe that books and music can’t exist without the other. My goal is for you to read more than a good book, but for you to have an experience!
