~ Synopsis ~

Miranda “Rand” Coleman has seen the way love can wreck a person and wants absolutely no part of it. When her granddaddy dies suddenly, he leaves a clause in his will that has her married in three months or she loses her inheritance. Unwilling to give up the Double C Ranch, she starts to set her eyes towards the eligible men in town, with little luck in finding a man she can stand for a minute let alone a year. Until she sets eyes on the new veterinarian and enlists the help of her womanizing best friend, Jake, to help.

Jake Hansen is a single guy who likes his women pretty and uncomplicated, with no plans to settle down anytime soon. When he decides to help Rand hook her man, he has no idea the effect watching Rand change would have on him. Especially when she starts letting her gorgeous brown hair down and showing off a body he didn’t even know she had. Before too long, Jake isn’t just lusting after his best friend, he’s feeling downright possessive. But when it comes down to the wire, will he get over his issues and step up to the alter…or lose the only woman he was ever meant to love?

~ Review by Courtney ~

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*When Miranda “Rand” Coleman’s grandfather passes away, he leaves her with an ultimatum through his will. Either Rand gets married or she loses the Double C Ranch. Rand never expected to have to get married, she never wanted to get married in the first place. With a plan in place Rand sets out in the small town of Loco, Texas to find her temporary husband.

Make Me Crazy is a cute and sweet story. It focuses on Rand, Jake and Red, best friends since childhood. When Rand is forced to find a husband or lose her ranch she turns to Jake and Red for help. But as time gets closer so do Rand and Jake. Rand never wanted to fall in love, let alone get married and Jake is the town playboy. So when they find themselves attracted to one another things start getting confusing.  I enjoyed the story, but found it not really detailed enough.  Jake and Red have been friends with Rand since childhood, yet their friendship seemed superficial. They proclaim to be best friends, but they didn’t seem to really know each other, there wasn’t a lot that really showed how they were best friends and the bond that they shared. The story definitely followed a more sweet element, and there wasn’t a lot of angst, whatever conflict there was ended just as quickly. The story moved and progressed nicely and never felt drawn out, but it seemed to just move from point A to point B.  I really enjoyed any scenes with Jake and Red’s moms, especially the church scenes when Red would get slapped across the back of his head, I laughed out loud at those parts. All in all it was a sweet story, but I did feel that the details were lacking which, for me, lessened my connection to the story and the characters. I gave Make Me Crazy 3 out of 5 books.
