I love him, from the instant I set eyes on him when I was just 11 years old I have loved him and nothing will ever change that, he owns me, he owns my heart and he owns my body and no matter how many lies are told, no matter how many people conspire to keep us apart, despite the fame and the distance, we will find a way.
“Georgia Rae, when we made love you used to cry” … He waits for me to sing my bit. I try to swallow down a sob but I just end up singing through it…
“I said I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die”
Carnage is an edgy coming of age love story that breaks all the rules and transcends the decades. Georgia and Sean’s story will stay with you long after you read the final word.
An emotional, smoking hot, gut wrenching read.
This is part #1 of a 2 part story but can be read as a stand alone.
Review by Courtney
I have to write my review for this book immediately. Sometimes I wait a day or two just to get my thoughts together after a book. I can’t with Carnage, because I will be a sobbing mess and I really just need to get this review over with and move on to my next. My heart is broken after reading this book, just shattered. I finished it at 1am, I woke up twice through the night and both times my mind wandered back to what I had just read. I know a lot of it probably had to do with me reading so late into the evening, but even when I woke up I was gutted and teary eyed.
I loved this book the minute I started and couldn’t put it down. It was one of those stories that you rushed through everything you needed to do throughout your day because you just needed to get back to reading and see what happened next. Many times throughout the story, I didn’t expect what happened next, it completely threw me off every damn time, it was one of the most painful, heart wrenching stories I have ever read. There were moments that made me smile and there were moments that pissed me off, but in the end it brought on so many emotions, it made me cry, it made me laugh and it aggravated the hell out of me. There is a second book expected for this series, and I really need it to be done. I know without a doubt that every time I think of this book, even months from now, my heart will tighten in my chest, my throat will get choked up and I will have to hold back tears. This is only the second time I have had this feeling over a book. That’s how truly intense it was.
I loved all of the characters in this book. Georgia was a selfish, spoiled brat, but it fit perfectly with her age and I still loved her character. She was young and learning how to cope with the situations in her life, as many of us have. Her relationship with her brothers was remarkable and I loved the closeness between all of them. Sean and Cam, oh Sean and Cam. Both beautiful, incredible men, but completely different from one another. They were both just so passionate that you couldn’t help but love both of them. The book is based in England, so there is a lot of British slang and grammar, but for me it’s really cool and enjoyable reading books like this because I love the terms used. All of the characters are so ‘cheeky’ and witty and it really helped to break up the really devastating moments. Sean and Marley’s banter always made me smile. There were moments where the story did slow down a little bit, it got a little repetitive, but I think with the way it ended it really helped to build the story and give the reader enough to be heartbroken in the end, but also be fulfilled and content that they were able to experience so many moments with the characters. I gave Carnage 5 out of 5 books! And now I will go have a book hangover until the next book comes out.
About the Author
I am a born and raised Essex girl now living on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, just outside of Melbourne Australia, I moved here with my husband and three sons in 2006.
Carnage is my third book and was written originally and can be read as a stand alone but I have been convinced by bloggers and readers to write a follow up, so it will be with you later this year.
My first book was Saviour, then it’s follow up Resolution, which completes the series.
Not only do I love to write but I also love to read and can devour a book overnight if the story grabs me.
I love watching my sons play football and am very partial to a glass of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favourite.
