The man was sinful. It wasn’t just the looks that made him dangerous, it was the cocky confidence that dominated every move, every touch. And the frustrating yet ecstatic fact about the whole package was that he could back it all up…
Julia Campbell never knows what to expect with win-at-all-costs Brad De Luca. And she’s starting to like it that way. She gave up safe, conventional relationships when she let the elite divorce attorney seduce her into his world. Now that he’s determined to strip her naked of every inhibition, she’s in danger of falling too deep and too fast.
But their affair begins to feel even more dangerous when a murder leaves a trail of suspicion that points straight to the mob…and Brad. Trusting a man with a bad reputation and a past full of secrets seems like a mistake. But when she’s forced to make a choice, the consequences will take her further than she could ever have imagined.
My orgasm was long, hard, and insanely good – visions filling my head, my eyes opening intermittently seeing faces, hearing words, knowing that a room was watching – the knowledge stretching out the orgasm, and I was close to sobbing when it ended, my body collapsed against him, legs useless.
I sagged in his arms, my thighs wet, body quaking. I had just come, in front of this whole room, men staring, my breasts hanging out, my panties ripped and tossed on the floor. I should have felt like a slut, a dirty whore. But instead I felt liberated, aroused. It was an interesting discovery, to know that I liked being dirty. I wanted to be stared at, pointed to, to have men lining up to fuck me. Inside, I felt a release of some tie, some leash undone, and I knew my descent into sexual awareness was just now starting. I wasn’t sure if I could ever tie it back into orderly place.
Review by Courtney
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Book 1: Blindfolded Innocence
Book 2: Masked Innocence
*This is not a standalone. In order to truly appreciate the story and characters I recommend reading Blindfolded Innocence first*
I will start this review off by saying the dialogue and banter between Brad and Julia has to be some of the best I have read, especially with the darkness the Brad exudes. I always look forward to scenes when they really interact with one another and kind of get bummed out when their conversations end. Alessandra has created two very likable characters and their conversations are so fluid and witty. Brad is a dark, gritty and mysterious character, but when placed with Julia he becomes this care-free, fun loving personality.
Masked Innocence starts off with Brad and Julia testing out this new relationship they are beginning. A new journey for both of them, they both have to find their footing with one another. Brad DeLuca, not the relationship type, has found his match in Julia and finds himself drawn to her. Julia Campbell, new to her sexuality, doesn’t know how ready she is to become a part of Brad’s dark world of sex-capades. But neither falter and they both challenge themselves and one another. When Julia discovers a secret regarding her boss at the law firm, she becomes a target. But in her discovery, more secrets about Brad DeLuca are unearthed.
As I said I loved Brad and Julia. While the reader may expect a lot of Brad and Julia’s sex scenes to follow Brad’s own desires that were revealed in Blindfolded Innocence, they actually don’t get that deep into ‘his’ world. While the sex scenes are hot as usual, the story actually focuses a lot on Brad and Julia. As the story unfolds it takes on a whole new element, one that I would have never expected, especially after Blindfolded Innocence. I was happy to have an opportunity to understand both characters better and see the growth in their relationship and their journey together. I was surprised with what did get revealed, so now I am really interested to see what direction the next installment will go! I gave Masked Innocence 5 out of 5 books.
