Antigone Poems by Marie Slaight and Terrence Tasker

Review by Venture

The poems are a look into Antigone.  Antigone is a figure that I found quite interesting.  Her passion, righteousness, and tragedy.  I have read some poetry.  I wouldn’t call myself an expert but I found some of the poems to be intuit and others are disjointed.  I can honestly say that some I found that some of it was very sensual and not easily understood.  Others I found to be mind blowing. It is not lyrical.  I could not sit down and read it in one sitting.  However the book gives you moments that make you really think.  It definitely represents some of the dedication and struggles that Antigone had to go through.

I wouldn’t rush out and tell everyone to read this book.  However, I can honestly say that some parts of this book made me think and I can’t say that I didn’t like it.  Poetry is definitely a personal reflection.  Some people will love this book.  Others will not like it.  I however can’t say either.  I can just say I found it different.  Different is neither bad or good.  I give this 3 books.
